This annual marriage conference gives couples the chance to rekindle their love, grow closer to God and learn principles for a more fulfilling marriage. The weekend incorporates a variety of learning formats — large group meetings, seminars, couples’ projects and small group interaction. The next Marriage Enrichment Weekend is being planned for February 2010.
This conference happens on the Evergreen-Bloomington campus every February and focuses on issues that are pertinent to singles. During the winter of 2009, we focused on “God @ Work.” This was a unique conference that had one simple goal – to help every single who came to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ on the job, in their passions, and in their free time. Our desire at these mid-winter singles conferences is that God would GROW each participant into a more fully-devoted Christian – a man or woman after God’s heart!
Even with all the programs that churches across America are offering young people today, the ugly truth is we are failing miserably in our attempt to pass on our faith. George Barna’s recent research revealed that eight out of ten high school students growing up in the church are turning their back on Jesus within a few short years after graduation. At Evergreen, we believe that the best way to keep our young people from reflecting this statistic is to focus on the head of the home, Dad, and build into him spiritually. On the second Saturday of every month from September through May, Evergreen men gather from 7:00 am - 9:00 am for hard-hitting teaching and equipping that gives them the tools to be the dad they are called to be. Join us in the battle for our families and link up with some men who can help you grow. Begins Saturday, September 12, 7:00-9:00 AM, and continues the second Saturday of each month. Held in Room 127 (enter through door H).
The Women of Worth (WOW) Ministry sponsors a variety of in-depth Bible studies by Beth Moore and Kay Arthur. Each week women assemble to view a video and discuss life application, with personal Bible study involving 30- 45 minutes of daily 'homework.' These studies guide believers to love and live on God's word and cultivate relationships through discussion groups. Check the church calendar or church news for upcoming studies.
