God tells us in Genesis 2:18 that “it is not good to be alone”. We agree, and we believe that everyone needs strong relationships. Families, neighborhoods, schools and communities used to be a reliable source for providing a healthy network of relationships. Today, these support systems are in distress. Broken families are commonplace. Neighbors tend to keep to themselves. Schools are less safe. People uproot frequently. The result is that the need for meaningful relationships has never been felt more acutely. This is where Evergreen growth groups come in.
Growth groups are a vital part of the larger Evergreen community. A growth group is like having your own family within the larger church. Groups are made up of 8-16 people who get together in members' homes during the week. In a growth group you participate in relevant biblical discussions that will help you grow in your relationship with God. This happens as you learn together how to apply the teachings of the Bible to your daily living. You also develop close friendships as you spend time “doing life” together.
There are a variety of groups to choose from, depending upon where you are in life. We have groups for youth (meet on Wednesday nights) singles, single parents, newlyweds, couples, parents and empty nesters. We also have quite a variety of support groups designed to help meet your specific needs (meet on Monday nights).
