Many couples never learn what makes a marriage successful before they get married. That’s why Evergreen offers the pre-marriage seminar “Fit to be Tied.” This ten-week seminar helps couples learn the basics of a happy, successful and fulfilling marriage. Topics include communication, conflict resolution, finances, physical intimacy, expectations, husband and wife roles and parenting.
The format for each meeting includes a message by the facilitator followed by smaller group discussions. Weekly projects are assigned for the couples to complete outside of the class. Attendance at this seminar is required for couples who desire to get married by an Evergreen pastor. For upcoming seminar dates, check our announcements online, generally this 10-week seminar begins in mid-September and late February each year.
Cost is $69 which includes the materials. If you take this seminar, you are eligible for marriage license fee reduction of about $100 in the 7 county metro area.

While marriage and parenting are some of the happiest and most rewarding life experiences, they are equally intense and stressful. Evergreen wants to help your family be a success. We offer a variety of growth groups that are designed to meet the needs of various demographic groups—newly married couples, families with kids, blended families and empty nesters.
Couples will find support and encouragement as they get together with other couples to share the victories, joys and struggles of marriage and parenting. For a complete list and description of groups for couples and families, visit our growth group page.
With the many pressures and distractions of life, married couples often struggle to keep their relationship as a top priority in their lives. Just as with our cars, families require “tune ups” if they are to keep running in good order. Each year we will have either a marriage conference or a shorter version we call “marriage workshops”. We also offer parenting workshops. These half-day seminars provide practical teaching, couples’ projects and small group interaction. You might call it “preventive maintenance” for your families. Strong Godly families are our goal.
