A 2 week SERIES STARTING SEPTEMBER 10/12
Even though there are more than 200 billion stars in the universe, each one is unique. No two stars have exactly the same properties. Similarly, it is true that every snowflake, blade of grass and grain of sand is one of a kind. The same is true with churches. In this two week series, we’ll explore what makes Evergreen unique. Maybe you’ve wondered what it means to you that we aim young. Or why our pastors are recognized from within the congregation? Or why don’t we offer more programs? Or why are Growth Groups such a big deal? These and other questions will be answered as we explore Evergreen’s unique approach and how it’s designed to help you discover Jesus Christ in life changing ways.
Financial Peace University
HANDLE GOD’S MONEY GOD’S WAY
Wednesdays, September 15-November 17, 6:30-8:30 PM. This is a 13-week video series presented by the entertaining and energetic Dave Ramsey, designed to teach families how to handle God’s money God’s way, reduce debt, save money, and give money. Small group discussions are incorporated into FPU for purposes of accountability and discipleship. FPU will meet 13 consecutive weeks, starting Wednesday, September 15th.

Help Somali Refugees
World Relief Minnesota is resettling 100 Somali refugees in the Twin Cities. This organization is looking for churches to provide a warm welcome to these new neighbors who are arriving with no family or friends awaiting them. BI-MONTHLY PACKING SESSIONS
2nd and 4th Mondays, 6:30-9:30 PM (packing 8:00-9:30 PM). Come join a bunch of other young adults/20 Something's to pack Kids Against Hunger Food, play some volleyball and just hang out! Think about it! You can meet some really cool people, have some fun AND help feed the thousands of children in Haiti by just showing up right here at Evergreen Questions? BBQ Sunday - ALL SINGLES
Sunday, September 12, 1:00-4:00 PM, Outside Grounds (or North Hall if raining). Join us for the last BBQ this year!! We'll supply the brats, hot dogs, buns and pop. Please bring a dish to share if you can or a couple bucks to help pay for the brats. We’ll also play volleyball and bocce ball. Children of single parents are welcome.

Fall Bible Reading Plan
Our summer Bible reading plan of the Minor Prophets will end soon and some of you may be wondering what's next. This coming fall, we are embarking on a "40 Days of Glory" journey. This journey includes a daily devotional so we will not be producing a Bible reading plan for the fall. A New 40 Day Journey This Fall!
“40 Days of Glory!”
40 days is a special amount of time in the Bible! Moses was on the mountain for 40 days and saw God! Jesus was in the desert for 40 days and conquered the devil! This fall, we will go on our own 40 day journey called, “40 Days of Glory!” We will thirst to see God’s glory. And we will discover our personal idols that cloud our view of God. Besides the weekend services, there will be a book to read, a devotional guide, and great Growth Group discussion. Please join a Growth Group to fully experience this journey. Sign-ups for Growth Groups begin September 24/26.

If you'd like an Evergreen Pastor to perform your wedding, you are required to attend this 10 week premarital seminar. Our hope is to give couples a godly perspective of marriage and equip them based on biblical principles. The cost is $70 per couple. This fee is nonrefundable, but you may be eligible for a $70 savings on your MN marriage license fee if you complete this seminar. Please pick up a registration form from the Events Spinner. Consider Involvement in Kids Against Hunger!
We would love to have you join us as we provide meals for the hungry in Haiti. We are currently in need of someone who has access to and can operate a bobcat for 1-2 deliveries per month during a weekday; 3-4 people to help move/unload these deliveries into our facility using pallet jacks - usually 1-2 hours during a weekday, some lifting of 50 lbs. max. Also needed are table leaders and helpers for our packing events and pack-a-thon packing sessions - 2 hour commitment (training provided). Mondays, September 27-May 30, 7:00-8:30 PM, Bloomington ECC, North Hall. Monday Nights are the time and place for Evergreen's multi-location support and recovery ministry. The fall 2010 line-up starts September 27 with Steps to Sanity, DivorceCare, DivorceCare4Kids, Women's Depression Support and GriefShare. These intimate and confidential groups are designed to help hurting people heal in a caring and supportive Christ-centered atmosphere. Questions?
