Why Do We Attend Faithwalkers?

Once a year, a number of us Evergreeners drive down to Des Moines, IA, to attend our annual Faithwalkers-Midwest conference. Our family has been attending Faithwalkers for years. Why do we attend? There are several reasons.

Attending Faithwalkers has helped my “spiritual posture” before God.

Standing before God on a regular basis has a tendency to weaken the knees.  Attending Faithwalkers has put this crusty heart in a recurring place of decision.  What do I believe?  Is this real? Who will I trust?

Ultimately, it's the repeated joy of my heart to yield to God. No “stiff-necked” life compares. My heart is prone to wander, and going to a place like Faithwalkers helps me return. It is a gathering saturated with experiences and spiritual words, all focusing my attention on Jesus. This is what helps my “posture.”

My kids love it. It's the highlight of their Christmas season.

VERSE:

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.” Proverbs 32:8-9 NLT
